Wild Ireland: The Edge of the World (T) Fri 23:15

Part two of two. Colin Stafford-Johnson heads north from Clew Bay for Donegal – golden eagle country – before reaching the island’s northern tip and turning east along the coast of Northern Ireland. Along the way he observes the whooper swans that fly in every autumn to escape the Arctic winter and the elusive pine marten, an animal resident in the area since the last Ice Age. Basking sharks, bats and salmon are among the other creatures Colin comes across as he seeks out the remotest corners of Ireland’s wild west.
