We’re very excited to share that Sheskinmore has been selected as one of Biodiversity Ireland’s 10 sites to visit before you die.
It is the only site in the northwest to be recognised in their list, which includes other spectacular sites such as The Burren in Co. Clare. As many of us already know, Sheskinmore has a wealth of coastal and freshwater habitats and species, with so many niche habitats, diverse flora and so much wildlife – you can’t fail to enjoy a walk through the dunes, over the machair, past the lough and across the beach – there is always much to see!
Sheskinmore is also going to feature in the TG4 natural history programme Éire Fhiáin-An Cósta Thiar (Wild Ireland – The West Coast) which will be broadcast on TG4 at 21.30 on Wednesday 8th March (2017). So plan a night in, or set the recorder as you won’t want to miss it! For those who can’t access TG4, an English language version of the series is planned for broadcast on the BBC – and we will update you as soon as the schedule has been announced.
